Happy 29, Rachel

What a year Rachel has had. She married and now is expecting her first baby around Halloween.

We celebrated her 29TH birthday with a delicious barbecue and swim party at Sydney and Bob's home. Jeremy's parents and niece joined us for this special evening.

Jim and I can't believe our youngest child is so old. Giggle, giggle!

GOTTA LOVE DISNEYLAND

We're back or I should say I'm back. Daddy got some well needed rest after his trip to the hospital to have three more stints placed in the arteries to his heart. After I was assured that Jim was doing very well, I went gallivanting around Disneyland with Sydney, Bob, Shea, Nathan and Abby for four days.

The Keyes have a timeshare with Disney so we had an amazing suite at the Grand California Hotel. The room had a wonderfully stocked kitchen and a large dining area. We made breakfast every morning before heading off to the Magic Kingdom. We even made breakfast for Aunt Maxine, Uncle Jack and their daughter, Wendy with her whole family one morning. They were at Disneyland celebrating Little Jack's birthday.

A super fun time was taking Abby to "The Princess Dinner". Sydney and I savored every moment enjoying a wonderful dinner and watching Abby in her beautiful Cinderella dress mingle with all the Disney princesses. Of course the guys went to the Angels game.

We all went to an Angels' game on Saturday afternoon. They were clobbered by the New York Yankees.

Enjoy the pictures!

More Pictures Of Easter Fun

Easter With The Prophet!

It's always special when Easter falls on Conference weekend. Of course we don't get to dress up in our new Sunday outfits until next Sunday but we get to hear our sweet Prophet and Apostles over the whole weekend right from our televisions at home. After all Easter is about the love of our Christ! I was very uplifted by all the encouragement and I was inspired to try to be a better person. I'm thankful for the knowledge I have of the gospel and I'm truly grateful for a wonderful family to whom I adore. I have been blessed with a sweet life.

Of course Easter is filled with good food, Easter egg hunts, lots of laughter and chocolate found in the strangest places! I can't imagine life without all my amazing children, their spouses, grandchildren, my sweet sisters, nieces, nephews and choice friends.

The G-Kids Make Easter Treats 2010

Making Easter treats is a tradition with Granny Franny. This year we were inspired by a recipe Paula Deen prepared on her cooking show a few days ago. It's very close to a family favorite we make called "Potato candy". It's that exactly but she makes a ball and dips it in chocolate. You can't go wrong with that!

Drue was the master baker along with his assistants, Shea, Nathan and Abigail.

There is chocolate in Granny's house where chocolate should never be found!!!

Sydney, Bob and Rachel cheered us on and stuck a finger in here and there.

We shared a delicious taco dinner and had our decedent Easter creations for dessert.

Spring Is Springing!

Our beautiful pear tree is very excited to begin "SPRING".  Jim and I agree that we are excited too.

The rain and snow flurries have been amazing this winter.  There truly should be an excellent burst of color in store for us very soon.

Of course most of you know that our baby is expecting a baby.  Rachel and Jeremy gave us this wonderful news just a week ago.  Jim and I are so thrilled to greet number 16.  We will adore our sixteenth grandchild as much as we adore each and every one of our precious g-kids.  Their sweet angel will arrive early November.  Just imagine Rachel blossoming in pregnancy.  Now that's a big giggle!

SMALL MOMENTS OF JOY!

For two weeks Shea has been very patiently waiting for Grandma to come over and watch him ride his bike without training wheels.  Grandma was gone for over a week helping Chad and his sweet family.  Grandma came home to a week of hard work at the office.  This Friday Grandma was waiting at the door when Shea came home from school.

Shea and Nathan both showed off great accomplishments on their bikes.

Do you remember when you were able to handle that bike all on your own with perfect balance, turning and stopping without a collision?  This is pure "JOY".

Watch out Shea, Nathan is right behind you.  He wants to be just like his big brother!
